Lavanda Project
The Lavanda Project - managed by Cooperativa Eta Beta in Bologna – was selected among the 2009 tenders “Jobs and social inclusion” forecasting a training and introduction of 14 people in a dry-cleaning factory and renting of ecological nappies (to be washed and reused), collected by kindergartens and delivered back, also to the province families.
The two main goals of the project:
social economy: a working opportunity for 14 people who are socially disadvantaged;
ecological impact: it allows when in force to cut the waste quantity produced through a model of dry-cleaning widespread on the territory, easily replicable, to provide for working opportunities to people signalled by social services;
The project was launched in March 2010 and at present four people are already working, a series of agreements were signed with municipalities in the Bologna surrounding areas as well as co-operations with ASL and Universities to scientifically validate the washing and sterilisation process.
Eta Beta co-operative president, Juan Crus, explains the Lavanda project as well as the technical process of washing and sterilisation phases.
